The Door of Grace Will Be Shut at What Point?

the-only-door23Someone asked him, “Lord, are only a few people going to be saved?” He said to them, 24“Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to. 25Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, ‘Sir, open the door for us.’ “But he will answer, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’ 26“Then you will say, ‘We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.’ 27“But he will reply, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from. Away from me, all you evildoers!’ 28“There will be weeping there, and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but you yourselves thrown out (Luke 13:23-28).

I think we would all agree that this passage clearly teaches us that there will be no second chances after Christ comes for His people, those who have received the gift of God, salvation through the substitutionary work of Christ on the cross. We are told in the above passage that there will come a time when the door of salvation will be shut. The intimation is that it will never be opened again, hence the weeping and gnashing of teeth. The door of grace will be closed at the rapture or snatching away of the church. Then will begin the wrath of God and the judgments of God on those that have willfully rejected God’s free offer of a pardon. I don’t see anything in this passage to indicate even the slightest hope that if one were to come later he would find the door open again.

There will be no opportunities for one to gain entrance into the Kingdom of God after the door is shut. It is as if God’s drawbridge of grace has been lifted, and those that are left behind must face the wrath of God. This is a hard truth to accept because we all have friends and relatives that may be left outside that door when it closes. I do not want to imagine their moment of realization and their pleadings when they find that the door is closed to them. At that time, it will not matter what kind of good life you have led on planet earth, when He comes for His church the deciding factor will be, do you have a relationship with Jesus Christ? Christ will say to many on that day, “I don’t know you or where you come from” (verse 27). When will this rapture of the saints occur? Jesus told us clearly that the gathering together of the elect (those that have relationship and faith in Him) will take place,

“Immediately after the distress (KJV Tribulation) of those days…at that time…he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other” (Matthew 24:29-31).

I believe we are now entering that dark time foretold in scripture that will happen just before Christ comes.

Only those who have relationship with Him will be allowed to enter through the door. If you are not sure as to where you will go on that day, then God wants you to be sure and you can know for certain that you are prepared for that day. God does not want to hide this truth from us (1 John 5:13). Cry out to Him today. Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved (Romans 10:13).

The War Between Jewish and Arabic Peoples

palestine122There is a great love by the Most High Creator God for the Jewish and Arabic peoples. God tells of a time that is still future when there will be a highway all the way from Syria across Israel to Egypt. It will be a time when Arabs and Jews will worship the Lord together. Even though we cannot see it right now, the Most High God will bring it about. Egyptians, Syrians and Israeli’s will have a true peace and experience the blessing of the Messiah. This is what the Lord says:

23In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria. The Assyrians will go to Egypt and the Egyptians to Assyria. The Egyptians and Assyrians will worship together. 24In that day Israel will be the third, along with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing on the earth. 25The LORD Almighty will bless them, saying, “Blessed be Egypt my people, Assyria my handiwork, and Israel my inheritance” (Isaiah 19:23-25).

We cannot see it now because of a great war that is going on over the Middle East. This war is being fought on a spiritual plane, but has consequences on Earth. Paul the Apostle wrote, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms” (Ephesians 6:12). What was Paul saying? He was saying that behind the things that are going on in the political world are invisible spiritual forces of evil that are vying for control over people’s minds and hearts. These invisible spiritual forces of evil plant thoughts and influence the minds of political leaders for a worldwide agenda to be brought about—a One World Government under a dictator the Bible calls the Antichrist. The hatred that has been pushed by the media between Jews and Arabs is of unseen demonic origin. It is just being used as a ploy for gaining control of Jerusalem, and at a time in the future, a world leader, the Antichrist, will sit in a newly rebuilt temple on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem and proclaim himself as God, seeking for all the world to worship him. The prophet Zechariah spoke 2500 years ago of a time that we are in right now:

2“I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that sends all the surrounding peoples reeling. Judah will be besieged as well as Jerusalem. 3On that day, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her, I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations. All who try to move it will injure themselves (Zechariah 12:2-3).

It is important to understand that the name “Jerusalem” never appears in the Koran. The claim to Jerusalem came years after Mohammad’s death. Writer Hal Lindsey, in his book The Everlasting Hatred, The Roots of Jihad, says, “The justification for this comes from a verse which says Mohammad travelled to the “uttermost mosque,” (which is the meaning of Al Quds in Arabic) shortly before his death.” There is no evidence that this was Jerusalem—the legend of a visit to Jerusalem first appeared in the days of Khaliph Omar, the Muslim who originally conquered Jerusalem in April of AD 637, more than 560 years after the Jews were banished from Jerusalem by the Romans. There will come a time when the Arabic people will see that they have been manipulated by dark invisible forces and turn to the Lord for the free gift of His salvation that Christ won on the cross. They will see that He has a great love for them just as He has for the Jewish people.  He will have mercy on all who call on Him—for He will forgive them of their sins when they cry out to Him. What a difference on Earth that will make!

The Great Tribulation or Persecution

The big question among Bible believing Christians is whether or not the Church will go through the Great Tribulation. In this study we look at what the Bible says about the issue. This video goes along with the seventh written study in the middle column. You can freely download the notes in Word or PDF format. There are some practical things as to what to do towards the end of the study. The early part of the study is about the persecution that the Jewish people have suffered through, and what I believe is still ahead for them.

What is the Mark of the Beast?

This has been a topic of interest for more than 37 years of my life. I came to Christ because of my interest in this topic. Most of this presentation is not really a Bible study, because there is little scripture on the topic. It really is a presentation of my thoughts on that time that we are approaching fast, and what I think the scriptures are talking about. We cannot be dogmatic on such things, but as you hear or read about the Mark of the Beast it is very obvious that this is something that is going to be forced upon the public. It is my contention that we should try to understand and perhaps prepare ahead of time for when this is rolled out. I also mention this topic in the first study, The Rise of the Antichrist.  The written presentations in Word and PDF format are found in the middle column of this website under the heading of the Second Coming of Christ. If you can help me get these studies out and more, please go to the right of the home page and click on the donate button. I am also willing to visit your group or church to teach this topic.

What are the Signs of His Coming?

The disciples asked Jesus as to signs of His return to the earth,“when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” (Matthew 24:3). For the rest of that chapter, Jesus spoke about specific things that His followers would know to be signs of His soon-coming and of the end of the age. Jesus did not leave it at just those words. In the Book of Revelation He spoke of Seven Seals that, at their opening, would bring specific effects on the earth that would again be signs of His coming. In the video below I teach on how these two passages of scripture relate to one another, after all, the same Person spoke the same words. The video is long but it is well worth the viewing.
